About
Cosmopolitan Village is privately owned by the Wu Family. It was initially designed in 2007 for students but morphed into retirement accommodation as part of a family vision to provide for the older members of our community.
Our unique village is run by Denise Te Tai – a one-time nurse with some 30 years’ experience in residential and retirement living. Denise worked at the Roskill Masonic in the late 1990s before being seconded to Selwyn Village and has headed Cosmopolitan since 2014.
Karen Provan is a valued member of staff providing support services including cooking and housekeeping.
Together, Denise and Karen go out of their way to provide a personal and caring service catered to each residents’ unique needs.

Shopping Excursions
Twice a week, residents can join the van-run to LynnMall Shopping Centre for retail and supermarket shopping. If online shopping is your preference, we can collect it for you.
Kitchen &
Residents Lounge
For the nights when you don’t feel like cooking, affordable meals are available upon request from the central kitchen, Monday to Thursday with a lunch on Friday. Enjoy the company of others in the spacious lounge or grab a takeout for your apartment.
Library
Each month, Avondale Library provides 40 new books on loan to our library room. Residents also share their own books. This is a quiet space to use access the computer, sit and read, or check books out to read at your leisure.
